What a fun session yesterday. This wonderful couple was the high bid on a donation I gave to Arizona Animal Welfare League. They rescued all three of these sweet dogs over the years, and with Ceasar getting up there in age (and starting to have some health issues) they decided it was time to capture these memories now with a pet photography session.  I am so glad they made that decision, and I know they are too.  We had a fun time with the three dogs (and the couple's two young sons - who did a great job too) and here are just a few of the images we created. Enjoy the sneak peak. . . and I'll get to work on the rest of them and try to post more later in the week.

I call this one  "Yappy Feet"

"Who's Your Daddy?"

"Best Friends"

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.  You are his life, his love, his leader.  He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."   Unknown

Thanks to this couple for being such wonderful people (and obviously worthy of the devotion from the dogs), and to all of you who rescue and care for these lovely animals.

Beat the holiday rush and save money too!  Book your portrait session for September or October and half of your session fee will be applied to your order.  I know it is still hot out there, but consider a studio session, or a session inside your home.  Early mornings outdoors are getting tolerable too, so get up early and we can do an outside location photo session before it warms up too much.  So call Spicer Photography today and let's plan your next family portrait, or a portrait session of just the kids or pets.

I love Pet Photography

Animals make me smile... and I have a special place in my heart for dogs.  This cutie was found wandering a golf course and was adopted by my dog loving neighbor.  I had to get a puppy fix and invited them over to the studio for a quick session.  Is this the cutest little puppy dog face you have ever seen?  Anyway, she is frisky and cute and has found her forever home. Having adopted my dog over a year ago, I can honestly say that there are so many awesome pets that need homes, and if you have the space and time to adopt and care for a shelter pet, please consider doing so.  Then call me and I will capture some lasting memories of your new best friend!

Portrait Gallery Blocks

These wooden “Gallery Blocks” are a totally unique piece of custom art for the wall of any room.  Custom designed for your space, we will create the background and the images to work with your room and style.  This is a sample I did using my favorite subject (my dog Comet) in a fun design that goes with my colors at home.  This particular sample is 24 inches square, but there are many options for sizes and layouts.  You have to see this multi-dimensional artwork in person to see how cool it really is, but for now these images may give you a rough idea of the design concept.

New Lay Flat Photo Books

In addition to the custom photo coffee table books we have been doing for years, we are now offering a new book that has hinged paper to allow pages to lay flat.  Offered with simple design options and in a variety of sizes too.  A book full of all the portraits from the upcoming beach sessions would be a nice memento of your summer fun.  Or join us at many Arizona locations for a portrait session and let us design a book for you to enjoy and share with others.  How about a “Day in the Life” book that showcases all the little things that makes life a joy. Let Spicer Photography capture the memories and design a keepsake bound book for you to enjoy for generations to come… how cool is that!

You may remember seeing this little one from a previous post ("Victoria").  She is a year old now, so I thought I would share just a few of her images from the recent session. Still a cutie, and always with the cutest outfits too! Happy Birthday Victoria.

Family Portraits

I KNOW it is still 100 degrees outside, and it is hard to even imagine that the holidays are right around the corner… BUT it IS TIME to start planning for any holiday portraits and gifts.  This is the busy time of year for me and weekends are already starting to get booked up, so if you are planning to get a family portrait (or just an updated image of the kids) give me a call so we can get you scheduled.

AND since we are on the subject, if you want a new and fun look for a holiday photo card, tell me your ideas.  As you know we custom make all our greeting cards based on your favorite images.  So what new and exciting ideas do you have to make sure YOUR card stands out from the others this holiday season?  If you can think of it, we can probably capture it.  I will be happy to brainstorm ideas if you give me a call. Move your bed into the yard and have a pillow fight complete with flying feathers? Sure…  Jumping out of a plane… sure… well, maybe… but just ask anyway and we will see what we can do!  I am always looking for something unique to do.  BUT keep in mind that in this day of cheesy photos, a truly classy (well done) portrait will also stand out (and be a timeless portrait for you to display in your home).

Regardless of the type of image you want, the important thing is to capture the memories of your unique and changing family.

“Other things may change us, but we start and end with family.”

Family gathering for the holidays?  Let us capture the memories...

What a delightful family gathering... glad I could be there to capture the moments!
